Ice on Lake Grimsel, Switzerland (© Gozooma/Gallery Stock)
【January 25 2014】Grimsel Pass connects the Rhone River valley in Valais to the Aar River valley of Berne, farther up in the Swiss Alps. Along the pass lie several reservoirs created in the early 20th century to provide hydroelectric power to the region. The largest of these is Grimsel Lake, or Grimselsee. And because we're at a perfectly Alpine altitude, it doesn't take long for winter cold to make ice on the surface of the Grimselsee.Explore breathtaking Gallery from the HuluTrip homepage over the past 5 years..
