【February 7 2013】Aside from their winning good looks, dolphins are considered relatively intelligent animals. Both qualities have helped lead to the preservation of these canny sea mammals. Everyone knows dolphins are intelligent. But they've surprised marine biologists by teaching other dolphins unique behavior that they've learned. For example, in the 1980s a dolphin named Billie was rescued off the Australian coast and then spent three weeks in rehabilitation before being released. Though she hadn't been taught any tricks, she'd observed other dolphins at the rehab center "tailwalking," a stunt that's of no use to a dolphin in the wild. Not only has Billie been spotted tailwalking since her release, she's passed the skill on to other dolphins in her pod. Explore breathtaking Gallery from the HuluTrip homepage over the past 5 years..
