(Photo by Pattarapong Chatpattarasill) ##Crown Prince opens Rajabhakti Park HUA HIN — His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn officially opened on Saturday Rajabhakti Park built to honour past Thai monarchs. The Prince and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha presided over the ceremony to open the park in Hua Hin district, Prachuab Khiri Khan province. The new attraction has seven huge statues of Thai kings built to show Thai people's deep respect and loyalty to the royal institution. They are: King Ramkhamhaeng, King Naresuan, King Taksin, King Rama I, King Rama IV and King Rama V. All left behind great contributions to the kingdom. The 222-rai park is built in the compound of the Army Non-commissioned Officer School, about five kilometres south of the resort district town on Phetkasem Road. ##Rajabhakti Park “Rajabhakti Park” in Hua Hin of Prachuabkirikhan province. The 13.9 meter-tall bronze statues of seven former kings standing in the line at the park are King Ramkhamhaeng of the Sukhothai period; King Naresuan and King Narai of the Ayutthaya period; King Taksin of the Thonburi period; King Buddha Yodfa Chulalok, King Mongkut and King Chualalongkorn of the Rattanakosin period. ##Hua Hin Destination Info The oldest and most traditional Thai holiday resort combines the attractions of a modern travel destination with the charm and fascination of a still active fishing port. The central town around the temple and toward the beach is free of high-rise construction with the exception of the Hilton Hua Hin Resort & Spa. Besides sun-filled days on the long beach there are leisure activities for the whole family from watersports (especially kite-boarding has become popular in recent years) to golf. The area around the town let's you discover fabulous parks and peaks, caves and waterfalls. In the evening the winding roads with a great variety of shops, restaurants and nightlife establishments make for an interesting and relaxing stroll.
