Siam Discovery is less about glitz and glam and more about sophistication. The collection of shops here caters to young urbanites and families. Standing among its glittering neighbours, it may not have that ‘wow’ effect but offers a good selection of designer fashion outlets and cutting-edge brands. Each floor has a theme. Fashion, beauty and lifestyle accessories occupy the first three floors, including sports brands, outdoors gear and gadget stores. The fourth and fifth floors are for home décor and specialty stores, such as Ong’s Tea, Robinson Piano, Asia Books Loft and Thann Sanctuary – a spa. The sixth floorof Siam Discovery is dedicated to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.Madame Tussaud's wax museum has now grown to become a major tourist attraction in London, incorporating (until 2010) the London Planetarium in its west wing. It has expanded and will expand with branches in Amsterdam, Bangkok, Beijing, Berlin, Blackpool, Hollywood, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, New York City, Niagara Falls (Canada), Orlando, Prague, San Francisco, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, Vienna, Washington, D.C., Wuhan, Tokyo and a temporary museum in Busan (Korea). Out of the 10 rooms, The Royal Room is the most elegant and culturally significant, as it showcases the wax figures of HRH Prince Mahitala Thibed Adulyadej and HRH Princess Srinagarindra, the late parents of His Majesty the King. All the decorative elements in this room are meticulously planned down to the tiniest details, whether the royal costumes, colour scheme, floral graphic patterns and music, all of which received the Royal endorsement from the Thai Royal family. This is the only room in which you are not allowed to touch the figures.
