In addition to riding on East Rail Line to/from Shenzhen and Hong Kong via Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau stations, passengers can also take through train travelling between Hong Kong and other cities in China. ##EAST RAIL LINE Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations of East Rail Line are directly connected to Luohu and Futian checkpoints respectively. If you come to Hong Kong through land transport, you can take MTR right after crossing the boundary to visit different popular hot spots in Hong Kong. In addition to Octopus or Single Journey Tickets, travellers can choose cross-boundary tourist tickets for travelling along the network. The Tourist Tickets are available for sale at Customer Service Centres of Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations and “Tourist Services” at designated stations. Alternatively, you may also purchase the tickets from online ticketing service and collect them at Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau stations upon arrival in Hong Kong. In order to provide a safe and comfortable travel environment for all passengers, MTR has implemented regulations on Conditions of Carriage of Luggage. ##INTERCITY PASSENGER SERVICES (GUANGDONG / BEIJING / SHANGHAI THROUGH TRAIN) MTR provides intercity passenger services between Hong Kong and the Mainland with three through train routes, namely the Beijing line, the Shanghai line and the Guangdong line. The Guangdong Through Train calls at Changping, Guangzhou East, Foshan and Zhaoqing. There are currently twelve pairs of through trains running between Hung Hom and Guangzhou East daily, in which 10 northbound trains and 10 southbound trains call at Changping, with a total journey time of about 2 hours. One calls at Foshan and terminates at Zhaoqing with a total journey time of about 4 hours. The Beijing-Kowloon Through Train and the Shanghai-Kowloon Through Train operate on alternate days with a total journey time of about 24 & 18.5 hours respectively.
