Asiatique The Riverfront This riverside spot has become one of the most popular places to ring in the New Year. Starting at 17:00 on the 31st of December, the countdown at Asiatique will be broadcast on television, so expect at ritzy glitzy affair. The best way to get there is via boat from Sapphan Taksin Pier (near the BTS of the same name). The night market will be buzzing: expect live music, Thai celebrity appearances and fireworks as the clock strikes twelve. Many of the restaurants will be hosting special suppers and it’s worth booking ahead to make sure you get a table. If you don’t manage to get a table never fear, there are plenty of food stalls and bars to keep you fed and watered. Opening Hours: 17:00-midnight Location: Chareonkrung Soi 74-76 How to get there: The easiest and fastest way to get there is via boat. Take the BTS to Saphan Taksin and jump on the free shuttle at the end of the pier. It only takes ten minutes, and the boat runs until 23:00.
