【June 8 2015】When just the right conditions combine in a body of water, countless microscopic plants living in the liquid, called phytoplankton, begin multiplying, causing a “bloom” in the water. This photo taken by a NASA spacecraft captured this flourishing of miniscule phytoplankton near the Patagonian Shelf of South America.
