Cherry orchards bloom in Mason County, Michigan (© Jeffrey Wickett/SuperStock)
【May 28 2015】Along the Lake Michigan coast of Michigan, cherry orchards are likely stocked with tart cherry trees, as the state grows 75 percent of the tart cherries in the United States. By this time of year, the blossoms seen here have fallen away and the trees are busy growing the fruit that’s such a big part of local agriculture. It’s so big, in fact, that there’s a National Cherry Festival every July in Traverse City, Michigan, that draws about a half million cherry lovers annually. This year’s harvest celebration runs from July 4 to 11, so there’s still time to make vacation plans.Explore breathtaking Gallery from the HuluTrip homepage over the past 5 years..
