【May 19 2015】If you find yourself in Lincoln, Nebraska, be sure to see this, the largest mounted mammoth specimen in the United States. “Archie,” as he’s affectionately known, is a Columbian mammoth, one of the last of the various mammoth species and the closest relative to our modern-day Asian elephant. More than 30,000 years ago, Archie roamed what is now Nebraska, and his surprisingly intact skeleton was unearthed there in 1922. Archie is now on display in the University of Nebraska State Museum, where he also serves as the museum’s mascot.Explore breathtaking Gallery from the HuluTrip homepage over the past 5 years..
