Lambs frolicking in Christchurch, New Zealand (© Andrew Walmsley/Alamy)
【March 20 2015】Today, the plane of Earth's equator passes the exact center of the sun, making our daytime and night just about the same duration--an equinox. And while we in the Northern Hemisphere celebrate the first day of spring, these three frolicking lambs dance a welcoming jig to the approaching winter. For in Christchurch, New Zealand, where this photo was taken, this equinox heralds shorter days to come. We may be packing up our mittens and galoshes, but our friends below the equator are putting away the flip-flops and swimsuits (and some are perhaps gloating that they already sport form-fitting wool coats).Explore breathtaking Gallery from the HuluTrip homepage over the past 5 years..
