【November 15 2014】This dormant volcano’s even, conical shape provides a nearly ideal space for terrace farming. Terrace agriculture is an ancient practice used to make the most of hilly landscapes that might not otherwise be farmable. Outside of Kisoro, Uganda, the farmlands are interrupted by forested foothills and steep mountains.
