Galia melon detail (© Nick Fielding/Alamy)
【August 10 2014】Who among us hasn’t wearied of the strident assertions made by partisans of different melon varieties? “Cantaloupe for the masses!” screams one. “Give me honeydew or give me death!” counters another. So shrill, so unnecessary. All herald, then, the great equalizer, the galia. The galia melon is a hybrid between a ha-ogen muskmelon and krimka melon. The former is similar to honeydew, the latter a cantaloupe. So while it has rough, netted skin like a cantaloupe, the fruit inside is green and sweet. Peace, at last.Explore breathtaking Gallery from the HuluTrip homepage over the past 5 years..
