【June 27 2014】Filmmaker and ocean explorer Fabien Cousteau, grandson of legendary oceanographer Jacques Cousteau, began a 31-day underwater research project here in the NOAA Aquarius Reef Base on June 1, 2014. Aquarius, deployed in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary in 1992, is a living space and laboratory on the ocean floor, where researchers gather data about the health of the reef. The oceanographers participating in the 31-day mission hope to set a record for staying in the submerged facility longer than any other crew. “Splash-up” is scheduled for July 1.Explore breathtaking Gallery from the HuluTrip homepage over the past 5 years..
