【February 1 2014】Fluorescent coloring on coral is a fairly recent discovery. Scientists believe that the secretions that create the colorful displays are a kind of naturally occurring "sunscreen" that helps protect the coral from bleaching due to chemical changes in ocean water. Of course, the phenomenon can be studied only at night. Divers take black lights to the ocean floor to see the effect in action. Luckily for us, they've photographed it and we get to enjoy another strange new wonder of nature.Explore breathtaking Gallery from the HuluTrip homepage over the past 5 years..
