【January 8 2014】ICEHOTEL, as it’s officially known, is the world’s first hotel made of ice. In mid-November, artists and designers come to the outskirts of Kiruna, the northernmost city in Sweden, to carve and construct this unique lodging, using fresh snow and ice harvested from the Torne River in the previous spring and kept in cold storage. The design of the ice hotel is always different--only the ice chandelier reappears year after year. After a season of accommodating guests who brave the 23-degree Fahrenheit nights in expedition sleeping bags, the hotel begins to disappear with the snowmelt come April.Explore breathtaking Gallery from the HuluTrip homepage over the past 5 years..
