【July 1 2013】This aerial image of the Mackenzie River delta captures just a small portion of the largest river basin in Canada. The Mackenzie drains across 697,000 square miles of land, an area that nearly rivals the size of Mexico. The river is named after Scottish explorer Sir Alexander Mackenzie, who completed the first recorded crossing of what is now Canada. If he were alive today, he'd surely join the people who have inherited this vast, beautiful country in celebrating Canada Day.
