【November 18 2014】Each November, people crowd the small town of Pushkar, India, for a livestock trade event that has become a camel beauty pageant. Camel owners from around the Indian state of Rajasthan show off their best beasts by dressing the camels up in jewels and finery for parades, pageants, and hopefully a sale. Meanwhile, musicians and craftspeople from Pushkar have turned the camel fair into a massive tourist attraction. For a few days, thousands of travelers from around the globe come to celebrate and enjoy the spectacle that arose from a simple gathering for regional agriculture.
