Fire Dragon Dance Dances the procession of lanterns, is Hong Kong Mid-Autumn Festival richest traditional features custom. When the people of Tai Hang village miraculously stopped a plague with a fire dragon dance in the 19th century, they inadvertently launched a tradition that has since become part of China’s official intangible cultural heritage. and a major feature of Mid-Autumn celebrations in Hong Kong. Story: Long long ago, Tai hang district had been attacked by windstorm disaster. After that, a python was appeared in this small village, and threaten the security of villagers. They made a decision to kill the python and they were won. But few days later, plague occurred in Tai hang, the elders said that they got message from Bodhisattvas. She told them the Fire Dragon Dance can stopped a plague. So they did it. Coincidentally, it worked. Since then, this custom have been passed so far. Victoria Park: MTR Causeway Bay Station Exit E, walk along Great George Street to the park; or MTR Tin Hau Station Exit A2, turn left at exit and enter the park from Hing Fat Street.
