  This 'trail' was poorly signposted and in urgent need of some TLC. It's worth doing to see the tall pagoda at the start and in particular the ancestral halls half-way along, which are truly spectacular. However, other than that it's a rather frustrating wander round a dilapidated area. Also, eat at Thai Gather near the pagoda. Not on Tripadvisor unfortunately... More

  You can find old infrastructures here in Ping Shan. Do not miss 鄧氏宗祠，愈喬二公祠，鄧族文物館 etc. You can also find special Hong Kong Style restaurant like 和記，華嫂冰室，屏山老地方，or even new style restaurants like F1 Cafe (racing car theme), Cafe 123 (run by famous designer 鄧達智）。Access to it becomes easy now since MTR Tin Shui Wai Station is just next to it.

  It's a long trek from Kowloon or the island on the MTR out to the New Territories, but hardly worth it. Once you alight from the station, you're right there, but 'there' is dubious.   I really enjoyed to see those different old monuments that gives to Hong Kong its special touch. Nevertheless, when its first time that show up there you will find it difficult not to lose the path as there is clearly a lack of directions on this trail.

  The pictures from the discover Hong Kong website made the place look much better than it actually is. It doesn't look like any work was done to make the trail a better experience.
