  the temple is busy & on holidays there are vendors setup to sell street food & produce, but it'll be crowded! The wishing tree is reachable by city bus or by train to Tai Wo station & then walking 15 min.

  While they have replaced the oranges with plastic ones - which I suspect makes it easier to get it onto the tree, it is still a fun activity for visitors.

  Although due to the wear and tear of the tree you can no longer tie your wish to a piece of fruit and throw it high into the tree but they have a booth set up to still make a wish and place it with your Chinese zodiac sign. The older ladies who run it speak no English at all... More

  One of the most popular places to visit by locals and tourists during Chinese New Year. Some may prefer other dates when the place is less crowded.   This was the kind of experience that is made by the company you bring. I went with about 8 other people and we had a blast even though the tree was fake and you have to pay for 'wishes'. I'm not sure it'd be worth the trek so far out of the city by yourself.

  It was January raining season when we visited the tourist attraction. Though far from downtown city it is not too difficult to reach. It is a direct, easy trip from Tai Wo station on the 64K bus.   Yes, the tree is plastic. Yes, there is a great deal of concrete surrounding the tree. Yes, the area is in need of some maintenance. BUT, it is still well worth a visit.
