  After visiting Tai O we took the number 1 bus which brings you across the island to many quiet sandy beaches that you can stop off at and eventually to Mui Wo. We didn't go to the beach here but caught the ferry back to Central (about 1 hour) a cheap way to see many ofthesmallerislands.

  Ok, I went there when there was an amber rain warning, so what did i expect, but to get wet - ha ha. The place is brilliant though, I had 8 hours to kill at the airport and having been to Hong Kong quite a few times, didnt want to do the usual kowloon, central thing. So, quick Lantau taxi... More

  Short and cheap ferry crossing from Discovery Bay on a "phut phut" ferry. Some nice choices for lunch. Small but clean beach. Good place for small boys to let off steam and dig holes.

  I did try to enjoy the place after arriving by bus from the big Buddha and let the ferry back go to have 2 hours to explore a bit. I headed for the beach that was visible but there is so much seafront building work going on I gave up. I am sure it will look better when it's finished... More

  Mui Wo is a village on the shores of Lantau Island, and can easily be reached via ferry from Central, which operates every 30mins (40mins on Weekends and PH). The ride is about 30-40mins long and once you arrive in Mui Wo there are plenty of options for day to day activities. My personal favorites are the many seafood restaurants... More

  Wah Kee Seafood Restaurant, Mui Wo - We went for lunch in a group of 6 families and the owner started shouting at the small kids aged 5-6 years for apparently blocking the way. When the parents objected to her tone she swore at them and told them to F off! This was an outrage and we cancelled the remaining... More

  We reached Mui Wo by hiking from Tung Chung North. It was around 8 km hiking on Olympic Trail. Silvermine Cave & Mui Wo waterfall is on the hiking trail just before reaching one of the villages in Mui Wo. It is a small sea side town with several villages.
