  There weren't many shops or eateries around here but the attractive buildings were very well-maintained. A good destination when heading downhill from the fort.

  Wonderwall Coffeehouse is another recent addition to the emerging coffee scene in Macau. This is actually a wine bar/coffeehouse set up on beautiful Rua do Volong street between St. Lazarus and Tap Seac.   We came across the area after leaving Monte Fort & heading for Guia Fort, and found it to be pretty interesting. There are a few museums & Lazarus Church at the bottom of the steps, and lots of shops once you meet the main road. Nothing outstanding but worth the walk through to something else.

  St. Lazarus district is one of our favourite areas to visit in Macau. Here you will find a picturesque neighbourhood, beautifully lined with tiled cobblestone streets and Portuguese inspired building facades as well as streets mostly devoid of tourists and car traffic.
