  Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport

  Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport is the hub airport of Gansu and the base of the Civil Aviation Bureau of Gansu. It is located in Lanzhou, the northwest frontier of China. It is an expanded airport after the national implementation of the western development strategy. Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport has opened nearly 60 airlines from Lanzhou to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Xi'an, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Dunhuang, Jiayuguan, etc. and it has also opened a regular tourist charter flight to Hongkang every Tuesday. It is 76 kilometers from the downtown of Lanzhou to Zhongchuan airport, about an hour's drive, and there are buses and taxies for communication.

  Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport Bus

  Round-trip between Zhongchuan airport and Panxuan Road, Chengguan District, Lanzhou (Oriental Hotel). There are buses available 24 hours to the urban area if there are flights.

  The buses depart near the ticket office of civil aviation at 588 Donggang West Road, Chengguan District, Lanzhou. There is a bus every 30 minutes from 05:30 to 20:00 every day, and there can be increase of buses anytime according to the volume of passengers.

  Zhangye Airport

  Zhangye Airport is located in Zhangye in the middle of Gansu Province for both military and civil use. It is the expanded airport on the basis of the original Aviation School Airport.

The airport covers an area of 3025.5 acres and the runway is 3,000 meters long and 55 meters wide. It is expected that in 2020 the throughput of passengers will reach 243,000 and the throughput of cargo 1,723 tons. The terminal area covers 4189 square meters.

  Jiayuguan Airport

  Jiayuguan Airport is one of the oldest airports in the Northwest of China. It is recognized as gliding training and competition venue for its special geographical condition, broad geomorphological features, good clearance condition, and modern ground guarantee facilities. In 1987 the hang-gliding training base was built by Gansu Aviation School. Approved by the State Council and the Civil Aviation Bureau, the base is shared with Jiayuguan Airport and it has become one of the three major international gliding bases.

  Dunhuang Airport

  As one of the four civil airports in Gansu, Dunhuang Airport is an important tourism branch airport of China. There are complete airport facilities with perfect function. It is the main alternate venue of Urumqi International Airport. At the peak hour, the passenger throughput reaches 600; the terminal area covers 12,000 square meters; the basic flow is after one-and-a-half-floor style. On the second floor, the design department is divided into a departure lounge and commercial facilities which not only meet the functional requirements, but also lay a foundation for long-term development into two-floor style. In 2007, the airport opened the temporary international aviation port.

  Qingyan Airport

  Qingyan Airport is the air gateway to Qingyang. The construction began in 1976 and it was opened in 1977. It is a domestic branch airport, located in Lijiasi Village of Pengyuan, 8 km away to the northwest of Xifeng District of Qingyang. It is designed for Boeing 737, Airbus A320 aircraft, and so on. The runway is 2,600 meters and 45 meters wide; the routes include Qingyang - Lanzhou, Qingyang - Xi'an, and Qingyang - Beijing (Nanyuan airport). On July 5, 2013, Qingyan Airport opened a direct route flight to Beijing which is available every other day.

   Tianshui Airport

  Tianshui Airport is located in Tianshui, an important city of communications between Shaanxi, Gansu and Sichuan. The airport was officially opened on September 28, 2008. The airspace, routes have been decided. The main lines at the early stage include Tianshui to Xi'an and Tianshui to Lanzhou. Tianshui to Chengdu and Tianshui to Beijing non-stop flights will be opened later. Tianshui Airport is a domestic branch airport and the grade indicator of flight zone is 3C. It mainly runs branch planes like CRJ200, EMBl45, DON328 and 30-70 Seats. It has also gained four-word code ZLTS and three-word code THQ.

  Xiahe Airport

  Located near the Kusaitang Village of Xiahe County, Gannan Prefecture, Gansu, respectively 72 km and 56 km away from Xiahe County and Hezuo City, Xiahe Airport is one of the key projects of civil airport planning in China, of the Northwest China of civil aviation, and of Gansu civil aviation development planning. The total investment the project is about 710,000,000 Yuan and the total area about 2600 acres. The grade indicator of flight zone is 4C and the runway is 3200 meters long. The terminal area is to meet the design goals for passenger throughput of 140,000 and cargo throughput of 560 tons in 2020. The terminal building covers 3185 square meters and there are 3 landing sites. Xiahe Airport can meet the needs of a Boeing 737 and Airbus A319 taking off and landing. The service covers Gannan, Linxia and other regions. It is the first civil airport in a minority area of Gansu province.

  Jinchang Airport

  Covering an area of 3025.5 acres, with a total investment of 365,000,000 Yuan, Jinchang Airport is one of the key projects of both the national and Gansu ”Eleven Five” plan of civil aviation. It is located at Bafendi, 19km to the east of Jinchang. The latitude and longitude of the reference point of the airport are decided tentatively at E102°20′20″and N38°32′32″and the magnetic azimuth of the runway at 130°—310°. The grade indicator of flight zone is 4C and the runway is 3000 meters long. The ocnstruction started on April 16, 2009.
