China has adopted the API engine oil category over the past three decades, but Chinese heavy-duty OEMs, in co-operation with key Chinese lubricant manufacturers and suppliers, are now charting their own course with a new heavy-duty engine oil specification, targeted for launch in 2019.

Xie Jingchun, Deputy Chief Engineer of Lanzhou Lubricant R&D Institute, PetroChina Lubricant Company, will speak on the "Technical Routine for China Domestic HD Diesel Engine Oil Specification Development" at F+L Week 2017, where he will demonstrate an innovative solution to Chinese engine oil specification development.

Chinese OEM's requirement for a high performance tailor-made engine oil, a totally different emission control strategy, and the speed of development of China HD engines are central to Mr. Xie's belief that it is "the right time to develop a China domestic HD engine oil specification."

"Mr. Xie has more than 20 years' working experience with lubricant test standards development and qualification. We are delighted he has agreed to unveil details of the new heavy-duty engine oil specification being developed in China for the first time at F+L Week, " says Vicky Villena-Denton, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of F&L Asia, the major industry publisher that hosts the popular industry conference dedicated to base oils, finished lubricants, petroleum additives and transport fuels.

"For anyone involved or interested in the China market, Mr. Xie's presentation is one not to be missed," she says.
