Post Bar resides in the main transaction hall of the Genera Post Office, the most prominent tenant of The Fullerton Building from 1928 to 1996. The GPO was also once the Mile Zero of Singapore, where road distances were measured from this point. Post Bar is conserved design elements like the original wall motifs and lofty coffered ceiling makes the decor truly unique. Imagine that the postal counter used to stretch from the current location of the bar counter in Post Bar across three quarters length of the building. At 300 feet long, it was reputed to be the longest in Southeast Asia. In a tribute to its unique history, a replica of the Red Pillar Post Box--a typical post box found on the streets of Singapore during the 1900s, stands at the entrance of the Post Bar. Drop in a post card and it will be mailed with a special postmark from The Fullerton Hotel.
