TAIPEI, Taiwan, Sept. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Being organised by Asia's largest trade shows organiser, UBM Asia and co-organised by Council of Agriculture (COA), the leader of Agriculture sector in Taiwan, Asia Agri-Tech Expo & Forum (AAT) will take place from 28-30 September, 2017 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, where Taiwan Banana Research Institute will make worldwide debut of "Tai Jiao No. 7" (Taiwan Banana No. 7).

This newly developed Cavendish cultivar banana plantlet possesses moderate resistance to Foc TR4 and its application for Plant Variety Rights is under process in the Philippines and Malaysia, hoping to provide the foreign banana sector with more options of cultivar which are disease resistant. Taiwan Banana No. 7 is more aromatic compare to other cultivars; hence it is highly appreciated by Dole Philippines.

In addition, as the co-organiser, COA will showcase 40 products and technologies from 37 companies at its pavilion which include seeding and seedling, pesticide residuals detectors & testing kits for food safety, bio-fertilisers, bio-pesticides, smart agriculture systems, agriculture machinery and many more. While in Taiwan Seeds and Seedling Pavilion, over 12 top Taiwan seeding and seedling companies will debut disease/insect resistant products. These vegetables and fruit seeds and seedlings can be grown under severe climate conditions.
