"Creative Achievements of Hong Kong" showcases Hong Kong's award-winning exhibits to promote business opportunities

HONG KONG, March 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The "Soaring Creativity - Hong Kong Pavilion 2018", which is co-organised by the Hong Kong Publishing Federation and the Hong Kong Printers Association, sponsored by Create Hong Kong of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Offices Brussels, participates in this year's Bologna Children's Book Fair by setting up a dedicated "Hong Kong Pavilion" themed "Creative Achievements of Hong Kong".

A total of 63 publishers and printers will take part in the "Hong Kong Pavilion", showcasing over a hundred winning local publications and printed matters in Hong Kong and international awards. These awards include the three major local publishing awards, namely the "Hong Kong Publishing Biennial Awards", the "Hong Kong Book Prize", and the "Hong Kong Golden Book Awards ". For the printing awards, most of them are from international printing competition, including "China Print Awards", "Premier Print Awards", and "Gold Ink Awards", etc. These awarded exhibits cover a wide range of topics from history, literature, children, language, art, lifestyle, travel and science.

A dedicated zone named "Creative Corner" is set up in the "Hong Kong Pavilion" with an exciting selection of Hong Kong children's books. The high importance attached by the Hong Kong public to their next generation's education encourages local publishers to develop more high-quality children's books, which in turn gives impetus to the sustainable development of the market. The outstanding children's books and printed matters exhibited in the "Creative Corner" aim to help bringing new business opportunities to Hong Kong publishers and printers with their counterparts.

Design of "Hong Kong Pavilion" shows the convergence of oriental and occidental cultures through images of Hong Kong's iconic buildings and traditions, goes well with the decoration under the theme of children's books, also serves to bring more visitors to the "Hong Kong Pavilion".

To sustain the cultural and creative exchanges between Hong Kong and Italy, the organizers will donate part of the publications exhibited in the "Hong Kong Pavilion" to the University for Foreigners of Siena (Italy). To further promote Hong Kong's culture, freshly made "Hong Kong-Style French Toast" will also be served for free inside from 15:30-16:30 daily on 27 and 28 March.
