SANS Looks to Strengthen Singapore's Cyber Security Workforce with October Training Event

Hands-On Training Offers the Latest Techniques to Master Intrusion Detection, Incident Response, Advanced Forensics and Much More

SINGAPORE, July 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, the global leader in cyber security training and certification, has announced that registration has opened for its largest ever SANS October Singapore 2018 event. Taking place October 15-27, this event will feature sixteen courses for security professionals at every level. The courses will cover topics such as cyber defence, intrusion detection, ethical hacking, penetration testing, threat hunting, digital forensics, incident handling, and security management.

SANS October Singapore 2018 features courses for those new to information security as well as highly-seasoned professionals. Included in the course lineup are five new courses. The new (and newly updated) courses include SEC460: Enterprise Threat and Vulnerability Assessment, SEC487: Open-Source Intelligence Gathering (OSINT) and Analysis, SEC530: Defensible Security Architecture, SEC599: Defeating Advanced Adversaries - Purple Team Tactics & Kill Chain Defenses, and DEV540: Secure DevOps and Cloud Application Security.

The event also features two cyber range NetWars tournaments which are free to SANS October Singapore students enrolled in any 5- or 6-day course. Available in week one (October 18-19), Cyber Defence NetWars is a defence challenge that will test a player's ability to secure systems and detect compromises. Available in week two (October 25-26), Core NetWars will challenge participants to prove their penetration testing skills in a multi-level capture-the-flag mission.
