Bluebells in the Halle Forest near Halle, Belgium (© Raimund Linke/Ocean/Corbis)
【March 20 2014】Belgium's Halle Forest, known locally as Hallerbos, attracts many tourists, especially when bluebells bloom at the feet of the beech trees in late April. The bluebell is common across Europe and the British Isles. In England and Ireland, it is called "fairy flower" in old folklore. The stories claim that if you pick a bluebell, the fairies will cause you to wander lost in the forest forever. If the forest is as pretty as this, could that be such a terrible fate?
