In the Christian faith, Easter has come to mean the celebration of the resurrection of Christ three days after His crucifixion. It is the oldest Christian holiday and the most important day of the church year because of the significance of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the events upon which Christianity is based.
Related celebration will be held in three days: Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter. Mass will be held in each parish in Macau during the 3 days. Actually, some of the traditional rituals have disappeared in the nearby religious regions, so a good deal of Christians travel from Hong Kong to attend the Macau Easter celebration.

Since some disappeared rituals are still well-preserved and practised in Macau, many Christians travel a long way to Macau to celebate this grang Easter. A series of festival activities will be held in the cathedrul, including: Suffering Palm Sunday, Consecrated Chrism Mass, Establish the Eucharist Gift, Ritual Funeral Parade, Resurrection Eve Mass and Resurrection Sunday Mass.
