What is China's Dragon Boat Festival?
The Dragon Boat Festival, also called Duanwu Jie, has a long history of thousands of years to memorized Chinese famous ancestors, Qu Yuan, Wu Zixu and Cao E.It falls on the fifth day of May on the Chinese lunar calendar. In 2008, the Dragon Boat Festival was first celebrated as a public holiday in China and it also is listed in the UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage list.

Why is the dragon boat race so attractive?
As the most important activity during the Dragon Boat Festival, the dragon boat races catch millions of eyes.Dragon boat teams paddle harmoniously and hurriedly, accompanied by the sound of beating drums.Teams of strong men struggle for the same goal, their yelling,their unitized action and their spirit spoil the whole site.

When and where to see the dragon boat races?
With two thousand years' continuous development, dragon boat racing has become an important competitive sport. Many places in China hold dragon boat races during the festival. We strongly commend you to go to the 2016 Hong Kong Dragon Boat Races, which will be held in Central Harbourfront by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and the Hong Kong China Dragon Boat Association. CCB (Asia) Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races will be put on the stage from June 10th to 12th.

What to eat during the Dragon Boat Festival?
During the Dragon Boat Festival,there is a most traditional food that you have to eat -- Zongzi. It is a kind of sticky rice dumping made of glutinous rice filled with meats, beans, and other fillings, wrapped in triangle or rectangle shapes in bamboo or reed leaves, and tied with soaked stalks or colorful silky cords. The flavors of zongzi are usually different from one region to another across China.

There is an old saying: 'Drinking realgar wine drives diseases and evils away!' Realgar wine is a Chinese alcoholic drink consisting of fermented cereals and powdered realgar.Chinese believes that realgar is an antidote for all poisons, and effective for killing insects and driving away evil spirits.Some people will draw on the children's face with realgar to let them avoid from bad things and bring good luck.
