Are you still working in PNG?

Got me beat, they only welcome our money, not us!. If you go on a cruise ship that stops there you HAVE to pay for a visa even if you don't want to go shore. That's why I'm bombarding the cruise lines with emails to stop going there, as it is only so they can say they have been in International waters and can sell their expensive "cheap" booze on board. (Yes, it's cheaper at Dan Murphy's than on board!). I prefer the stops in PNG instead, I don't mind paying for a Visa to visit them, and I would feel safer going ashore. Look at how many Australians and other white nationalities have died in Bali, Thailand and Malaysia!

Why do you call Indonesia as a 'barbaric' Country? I have been there before and again going there in 10 days. The people are very friendly and wonderful. Australians go there for the beautiful beaches and for the most romantic weddings. Food is good and cheap. I will keep going there again and again..

I'm American so I'm not too knowledgeable on this subject, but my guess would be because its cheap and convenient for Australians due to its close proximity.

It's a cheap holiday and Bali, being Hindu rather than Muslim, is more tolerant of Australian drunks.
