Yes Islam is a religion of Peace. The problem is that some people in Islam want to inflict their religion on others. I you've read articles saying that "ISIS said The Quran justifies beating and raping woman" then you have to realize that they are wrong. In fact the Quran says to never do anything to hurt a woman or a child no matter what.

Mostly all religions want you to be good and do good for others, so I would say yes. The religion of Islam itself is not that bad. It's the people who want to create a bad reputation for the religion of Islam are bad. Most Islams or Muslims are good with making the community come together like Christianity.

The word Islam means peace in Arabic, so yes, it is a religion of peace. The Qur'an (the Islamic holy book) teaches Muslims that war is not necessary and is ones last resort.

Some people follow peace and some don't, so i am not sure that Islam religion is peace
