The Pearl river cruise was told as a must-do. But its more of the night lights near the central business district, so it can be given a skip and instead a walk along the river boulevard near the Guangodong museum should suffice.Prefer to walk along the river boulevard.
The Pearl River night cruise is a great way to see the lights of the city. Cruising the river was really enjoyable however I would recommend skipping the buffet.
It was a nice night time cruise on the top deck of the cruise boat for a couple of hours. The lights of city are brilliant along the river as each bridge is brightly lit in an usual manner as are many of the buildings along the river. The most spectacular view is of the Canton Tower which just dominates the whole Guangzhou skyline with its changing lights and colors.
Taking a dinner cruise on the pearl River is a great way to spend an evening. All the boats are well lit up in brightly coloured lights. Dinner is served usually as a buffet as you slowly cruise down the Pearl River with both banks and many buildings and bridges all well lit up. In fact many have lights that not only change colour but change shape as well. After 30 minutes dinner is over and the boat turns around for a further 30 minute cruise back to the departure point. During this time most passengers go outside to take photos of the colourful light show all around. A very well worth trip, the only down side is it is so nice that appears to be over too quick.if you have an evening in Guangzhou well worth the effort.
