Addmission:  free Kitty N. Wong is a Chinese-Canadian artist and fashion illustrator based in Hong Kong.
In her new series, the artist challenged herself to create each piece in the exhibition in single sitting in order to build a conscious daily practice. It in turn gives focus to the process, which is of equal if not greater importance in artistic development as the final painting. And by creating each piece in an unbroken session, it also gives the work an immediate quality which is harder to capture when creating works in longer stretches.  The portraits in gouache and pastel with their powdery t exture, call to mind the tactile quality of a woman’s freshly powdered face. Male and female models are given the same vibrant treatment with washes of colour, red lips and luminous larger than life eyes.
