PROFESSIONAL CONVERSATION SKILLS TRAINING WITH NATHAN CRANDALL, FOUNDER, YOUR FLUENCY COACH Being able to communicate effective in professional English situations is important if you want to be successful in an international business environment. This will become increasingly true, especially in the ASEAN community. Many professionals feel that they have weak networking and small talk skills. But effective networking and small talk skills are actually very learnable. You don't have to be naturally good at them. In this one-day workshop, Master Trainer Nathan Crandall will teach you how to build your professional network and increase your professional opportunities with advanced networking and small talk skills. You'll identify your personal weaknesses and learn how to overcome them quickly and easily. TRAINING OVERVIEW Module 1: How to Find Professional Networking Skills In Module 1, we’re going to start by talking about how to find professional networking opportunities. You need to know what networking opportunities there are for you locally in order to be able to take advantage of them. There are several online resources that are very useful for finding local networking opportunities. And there are also opportunities you can find through the graduate program you’re attending if you’re a graduate student.  Module 2: Essential Small Talk Skills In Module 2, we’re going to talk about what to do when you attend a professional networking event. Specifically, we’re going to talk about essential small talk skills: How do you start a conversation? How do you keep a conversation going for as long as you want to? And how do you politely end a conversation? Module 3: Small Talk Practice and Weak-Point Training In Module 3, you’re going to start practicing what you learned in Modules 1 and 2. You’re going to practice with other training participants and get feedback from me on what you’re doing well and what could be improved. After Module 2, you’ll know theoretically how small talk works. But you’ll need to start practicing it if you want to get good at it. So in Module 3, you’re going to practice your small talk skills with real people, and we’ll identify any specific weaknesses you have.  Module 4: Advanced Small Talk Skills (How to Market Yourself) In Module 4, we’re going to talk about how to use advanced small talk skills to market yourself effectively. You’re going to work specifically on how to market your personal background and experience, learning good words, phrases, and expressions you can use so that people will think of you as a high-value professional. Module 5: How to Make Lasting Connection Offline and Online In Module 5, we’re going to talk about two things. The first thing we’re going to talk about is how to really establish a long-term professional connection. Because when you meet people at networking events, you may have a good conversation, and you may do a good job of conveying your professional value.  But to make a long-term connection that can have value in the future, you need to find a time to continue the conversation after the event. Otherwise, the professional connection isn’t really established, and you can’t assume that the person you met will really be willing to help you professionally in the future. Module 6: Creating a 30-Day Personal Networking Plan In Module 6, you’re going to put together everything you learned in Modules 1 through 5, and you’re going to create a 30-day personal networking plan.
