SINGAPORE, July 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 100 of the world's top innovation leaders gathered in Singapore for the Chief Innovation Summit, organized by Innovation Enterprise Ltd., on 29 & 30 June to discuss some of the challenges and opportunities currently impacting those working within corporate innovation. Attendees heard from companies including Google, Facebook, PropertyGuru, Aviva and eBay who discussed their innovation efforts and how others can emulate them.

One of the most groundbreaking and innovative presentations came from Hemant Aneja, Head of Strategy, APAC for Global Accounts at Google.

Hemant discussed how a company as large as Google still manages to innovate and innovate well. The key, he said, is to keep on trying new things - both incremental, and transformative, and fail more often. In addition, focusing on the user is the key.

Given the company's famed innovations, that come from all employees, it seems that they also give their workers time to come up with good ideas and work on them until they succeed. Hemant discussed how this worked and some of the exciting work the company is currently doing, including virtual reality and bringing the internet to the millions of people around the world who don't currently have a connection.

We also heard from Kiran Raghavan, Head of Marketing Partners, APAC at Facebook who discussed the importance of linking marketing and technological developments. Kiran revealed to the audience that research had predicted that CMOs will be investing more in technology than CIOs and CTOs by 2017 and this kind of transition will require considerable resources and support from the rest of the company.

Nicolas Chaussin spoke to the summit about his role as Head of Digital Innovation at Aviva. This was particularly pertinent given that Singapore is one of the two digital innovation hubs for the company. He gave some incredibly useful insight into how the company operates and innovates across the world.

Attendees found the summit to be incredibly useful with one saying 'It was an exciting event with a good composition of speakers and quality audience. I myself got some very fresh ideas.' and another mentioning 'Great content, very relevant and presented by some very experienced industry experts.'

The Singapore event is one of a series across the APAC region and the next Chief Innovation Officer Summit will be in Shanghai on September 7 & 8. Confirmed speakers include: Ping An Group, MetLife, Midea, Intel, CLP, Mdedtronic, Conde Nast, Johnson & Johnson and more world renowned organizations.
