Rio’s city government has presented more details about the ‘Olympic Boulevard’ in the redeveloped port district, which will become a major party zone during the Rio 2016 Games

The largest of three ‘live sites’ that City Hall is providing, it will feature three stages with live music, big screens showing the sporting action, more than 230 street art performances and a nightly firework display

The centre-piece of the rejuvenated port area, known as Porto Maravilha, is Praça Mauá, which will host the Encontros (Gatherings) stage

As well as showing the sporting action, the stage will host 30 concerts during the Olympic Games, always at the regular times of 1pm-3pm and 8pm-11pm
