Antônio Marcelo Machado Corrêa may only be 10 years old, but he still finds the time to practise football and athletics four times a week and to help out at church in Estácio, Rio de Janeiro, the neighbourhood where he lives with his parents

This week, he's starring in his first music video – for the theme song of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games

The boy is one of four children who are active participants in sport and whose stories have inspired the new video

As well as Antônio, a boxer from the Vidigal favela community, a swimmer from Jardim Botânico and a gymnast from Santa Teresa also took part in the video, which was partly filmed at the Olympic Stadium

All of the children are between 10 and 12 years old

“My dream is to compete here in a couple of years,”  Antônio said between takes, while his mother looked on proudly and workers applied the finishing touches to the stadium seating

Filming was the first time that Antônio set foot in the stadium

He made a beeline straight for the brand-new track, where he ran and danced in joy and imitated his biggest idol, Usain Bolt

With cameras recording his every move, the powerful scenes form part of the video for the official theme song of Rio 2016, Alma e Coração (Heart and Soul), released on Sunday (3 July)

The track was produced by Brazilian DJ duo Tropkillaz (André Laudz and Zé Gonzalez) with lyrics by MC Léo da Baixada, Victor Reis and Rodrigo Marques

Rapper Projota and pop singer Thiaguinho, artists from two very different musical genres, are the singers

“"We both chose the song," Projota says

"There are plenty more things that unite us than things that set us apart

” “It’s a song about overcoming a situation

It's about lifting your self-esteem, about running, fighting, making things happen

"This song sounds like Brazil," he says

"It’s about fighting hard and giving your best, with your heart and soul

”  Thiaguinho comes from a sports-mad family and once dreamed about being a football player

The singer's parents are physical education teachers and he has a cousin who will compete in the long jump at Rio 2016: Mauro Vinícius Hilario Lourenço da Silva, also known as Duda

“Sport teaches us a lot of things," Thiaguinho says

"It gives people an equal opportunity to compete regardless of their financial situation

It teaches you that some days you win, some days you lose, just as in life

" As well as the scenes at the Olympic Stadium, the video was shot at other locations across Rio, including the Olympic Aquatics Stadium, Leblon beach and in the favela of Vidigal
