Bonghwasan Mountain (920m above the sea level) is located in the heart of the southern part of the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range, sitting on the border between Namwon-si, Jangsu-gun (in Jeollabuk-do) and Hamyang-gun (in Gyeongsangnam-do).
Around mid May, Ayeong-myeon, located on the highland 400-500m above sea level, is covered with red azaleas which are in full bloom along the mountain’s west ridge.
The spectacular silver reeds during autumn also make the mountain a popular destination.
