TAIPEI, Taiwan, Jan. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Taiwan's well-known tropical fruits and street snacks have become a hot topic via the internet in the recent years. It has also been recommended by many overseas bloggers and tourists as one of the must-visit places in the world.  Behind these delicacies, the growers and agri-tech developers who have promoted the food's quality and quantity should be appreciated besides the talented cooks.

Asia's largest exhibition organiser, UBM Asia Ltd. Taiwan Branch, took the initiative to launch the "Asia Agri-Tech Expo & Forum" in Taiwan last year. Featuring "Innovative, Eco-friendly and Sustainable" agricultural technology, the trade show will kick off at the Taipei World Trade Center, Hall 1 from July 26-28, 2018.  Highly supported and co-organised by the "Council of Agriculture", the competent authority on agrarian affairs in Taiwan, the "Asia Agri-Tech Expo & Forum" has positioned itself as a B2B platform which actively promotes agri-tech innovative equipment and systems and general products offered by supply chains. The organiser expects this exhibition to help farmers improve software and hardware and to provide a better solution for food safety, food crisis, and soil conservation and restoration. The renaissance of agriculture 4.0 in Taiwan has begun.

Based upon FAO's report, the demand for food production expands each year as the global population rises. The report also predicts a potential drastic food price surge within the next 5 decades caused by limited and shrinking arable land as well as long land restoration period. Although rotation and fallow plans have been implemented in many countries, most of the Asia-Pacific regions lack arable lands to be rotated and fallow. As a result, the boost of biological pesticides has become one of the soil management strategies to reinforce users' ecological awareness. The Taiwan exhibitor "Green Land & Technology", for example, developed "Seaweed Organic Liquid" to improve blossoming and fruiting stages and enhance plant resistance to severe weather conditions, pests and plant diseases.

Meanwhile, there are many breakthroughs in agricultural machinery that is required by self-suffient and small-land farmers. For instance, lawn mowers have been transformed from traditional gasoline to electric ones. This transformation not only reduces the gas usage and air pollution rate but is also light to carry. "BLDC Grass Cutter," produced by "Comlink Electronic", features 1.85kgs weight in main body, with maximum output of 1hp running at low noise level, little vibration and zero pollution. Moreover, it allows the user to replace the blades, strings, and disk saw and runs at 4000rpm for 20 hours nonstop on a 17.4Ah battery with only a new-born baby weight- 4.3kgs. Besides the grass cutter, Wuli Agriculture Machine will also introduce "Portable Misting Fan" and "Misting System" to help reduce mushroom houses' indoor temperature that can also achieve the effect of energy saving.

The 2nd edition of "Asia Agri-Tech Expo & Forum" is held concurrently with "Livestock & Aquaculture Taiwan Expo & Forum" at Taipei World Trade Center, Hall 1, Taiwan on July 26. The grand 3-day exhibition contains a series of conferences and business match making programmes. Due to the outstanding results achieved last year, the total scale is expected to double in 2018. At present, 1,200 sqm of space has been booked, and UBM Asia Ltd. Taiwan Branch is recruiting manufacturers from around the world, including the Middle East, Europe and USA to participate in this one-and-only comprehensive B2B exhibition focusing on the advanced technologies for the field of agriculture, livestock and aquaculture.
