It's the biggest Korean Style Botanic Garden in Korea. There are a lot of trees here. Best time to visit should be Spring & Autumn, color trees & flowers. If you come during Winter (Dec - Mar), there are Lighting Festival instead of trees.
It was a delightful visit seeing so many different kinds of flowers. There are two souvenir shops in the garden (one at the entrance and the other one at the other end near the pond) they sell totally different things. There were also a couple of coffee shops and a restaurant inside the garden where you can take a break from the walking. Will back again ,The Garden of Morning Calm.
We saw practically every garden of note in Japan but I have to say, this one just blew us away. Surrounded by mountains and set over a huge expanse this takes the best part of 3 hours to do it justice. It's easy enough to get to from Seoul and a great break from frenetic city life. This garden is very well thought out and what makes it so good is that in the main, it doesn't feel as structured as so many gardens do. It has been the unexpected highlight of our trip.
