The nostalgic good old way to travel in Central and Hong Kong island is the best way, one can travel back in time.There is no aircon on the bus and can be pretty packed during peak hours, as this is the cheapest means of transport - comparing to their public buses and train, but pretty nice way to travel especially in Nov/ Dec, during their cooling season.
As the name suggests that's what it all about riding in a two story very skinny tram for a bygone era but what a awesome way to look around Hong Kong we spent a couple of hours riding the tram just taking in the sites
The old style public transportation somehow attracted me a lot! It is definitely not the fastest way to move around the city but it is the best way to touch the real life of Hong Kong people! It is a must try!!

We went from Central to Causeway Bay. We got off in Wan Chei because we spotted a street market which looked interesting. The tram stops at every stop, the best views are on the top deck but be careful when climbing downstairs to get off.
They are regular and very easy to jump on and off. They are a very cheap way of visiting many places and great if you spot something of interest to just jump off and back on again.
Riding this tram was a real funny thing to do! We did it just for fun. Try to go to the first floor of the tram and go sit in front of the tram for the nicest view!! Watch the people of hong kong passing by. Nice thing to do when you have enough time. We combined the tram with the star ferry.
Tram is the oldest transportation which is still running in HK. The tram line only reach partly of the Hong Kong Island. Many tourist find this is the best way to experience HK island, but frankly, not necessary to take a tram from the start to the end, it just take so long as there are many many stops along the route and it is very crowd during peak hour. You can just get in at Kennedy Town and get off somewhere near Causeway Bay, there is nothing much to see after passing Causeway Bay.
