The Tsim Sha Tsui Festive Illuminations Switch-on Ceremony, organized by the Tsim Sha Tsui East Property Developers Association, has over the decades established itself as a prelude to Christmas celebrations in Hong Kong.
The lighting decorations create a festive air, and provide added colour to the territory’s world famous skyline. Numerous locals and visitors from around the world come and view the festive illuminations each year. History
The Tsim Sha Tsui East Property Developers Association first organized the Tsim Sha Tsui East Festive Illuminations Switch-on Ceremony in 1983.
The creative design and spectacular effects of the festive illuminations are a big attraction in Hong Kong during the Christmas and New Year period.
With the reopening of the UC Centenary Garden after its renovation in 2004 and the addition of “Avenue of Stars” and “Symphony of Lights” show, Tsim Sha Tsui East has become a nighttime attraction for locals and tourists from all over the world.
