Kyoto Recommendation : Kyoto Three Most Famous Temples Relaxing Day Tour Kyoto Temple Lodging Reviews "I went to Koya-san 2 years ago and it was absolutely amazing. We stayed at the Haryou-in. My only regret is not paying a bit more for some of the nicer temples in the area. The Haryou-in cost Y6500 (+81-736-56-2702) including 2 meals. Most other temples have fixed their prices at Y9000. Morning prayers were optional."
"Check out Shunkoin. It's a Zen Temple in the Northwest of Kyoto (in MyoshinJi complex, near RyoanJi) and the vice abbott speaks excellent English. I stayed there for 5 nights in September and it was amazing. No meditation required and no curfew. 1 minute walk to bus or 8 minute walk to Hanazono (Japan Rail) train station."
"Our one-night stay at Daishin-in was our favorite part of our 10 day trip in Tokyo and Kyoto. The Myoshin-ji complex and Daishin-in temple are beautiful and very peaceful. It was a great way to experience Japanese culture and also take time to relax. It was a really easy walk from Hanazono station."
"Our Japanese friends took us to Myoshinji Daishin-in, and it was a truly memorable stay. It is very Japanese, a little bit like a homestay, with futon on tatami and the shoji, the sliding doors. It is very quiet, romantic and spirituel. Take a taxi to get there, and don't miss to walk around the whole temple complex."
