Yangpyeong Dumulmeori Dumulmeori got its name from its location where Bukhangang River and Namhangang River meet. Originally, Dumulmeori served as a ferry dock instead of a scenery spot. However, since the new land route, Paldang dam was built in 1973, Dumulmeori gradually lost it function of a ferry dock and transformed into a tranquil and lyrical scenic spot.
One of the attractions in here is the 400 years old Zelkova trees that appear as one giant tree. The old tree, along with the early morning's wet fog seems add more picturesque beauty to the surrounding nature.
Though it is a privately owned place, Dumulmeori remains as a popular site for shooting Korean TV dramas, movies, commercials, wedding pictures as well as nature pictures. Every year, numerous people are attracted to this place just to admire it natural beauty!
Also, situated to the right of the entrance of Dumulmeori, Semilwon, the other main attraction, is a must-visit place when you come to this area. It is an art gallery where visitors can enjoy the artwork, have their portraits drawn, or drink tea in a quiet environment.
Edelweiss Swiss Theme Village
Swiss Theme park, located in Gapyeong is a Swiss-styled park surrounded by breathtaking mountainous views. It is called 'small Switzerland' in Korea, because Swiss was modeled for this park. Some other facilities available for tourists include museums, trick art areas, galleries and souvenir shops.
There are 32 colorful buildings which are coherent with the Swiss architecture style. And 10 of 32 buildings have different themes such as Love, the Nutcracker, Swiss culture, Cheese, Chocolate, Santa's village(you can make your own chocolate here), Bear, Coffee, etc.
This Swiss-themed village consists of many white, clean, and bright houses where you can enjoy Switzerland architecture, museum, gallery, experience programs (such as chocolate or cheese making experience, and others), art, and also the natural scenery.
This park is also a famous filming location of one of Korean's variety shows called "We Got Married Global Edition"(Taecyeon and Gui-Gui edition, 2010).
Pocheon Herb Island Korea
In the Herb Island, There are an Indoor Botanical Garden which offers over 180 different herbs and an Outdoor Botanical Garden showcases a dazzling array of herbs surrounded by nature.
