Buongiorno! Welcome to the cobbled streets of Rome. Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 6pm on Day 1. Please look for a note in the hotel lobby or ask the hotel reception where it will take place. Afterwards, get to know your fellow foodie travellers over a bowl of pasta in the rione (area) of Monti, home to some of the city's most famous monuments.

Swap the city for the coast with a morning transfer to the fishing village of Fossacesia, which sits nestled between the mouth of the Sangro River and the Adriatic Sea along the Trabocchi Coast. In the afternoon, take part in a cooking class and learn the secrets to authentic Abruzzo cuisine – such as mussels stuffed with breadcrumbs, garlic and parsley. Enjoy an elevated view of the water at a dinner atop a converted trabocco fishing platform – just make sure to save room for dessert!

Travel via private transport south into the heel of Italy's boot to the region of Puglia. The region is a gastronomic playground, with regular food festivals throughout the year and, with so much freshly caught seafood and home made pasta, there's good reason to celebrate. The first stop is in Laterza, a historical town renowned for its many crevices and caves. The name of the town even means 'a hiding place'. Have fun playing hide and seek before continuing on to Ostuni, home to a celebrated family-owned artisinal bakery. Learn about the significance of Laterza bread and choose ingredients for a picnic. Later, step back in time on a guided walking tour of ancient Matera – a town that's been occupied for 9,000 years. While you're here, sample some herbaceous Italian liqueurs. The evening is free for your own food adventure...

Journey to a masseria in Avetrana. A masseria is a fortified farm house or country house on a country estate found in the region of Puglia. The group will be staying at Masseria Bosco, which sits on 100 spectacular hectares of olive groves just a two minutes drive from the Avetrana area. Each room has its own private bathroom, antique furnishings and original architecture and the masseria features it's own on-site restaurant and outdoor pool. After arriving and settling in, take part in an olive oil and wine tasting on the property and perhaps choose to dine at the masseria restaurant. The afternoon is free to explore the grounds as you please or perhaps relax by the pool. In the evening, sit down to a traditional Apulian feast using locally sourced produc. Dishes such as scapece (marinated and fried fish) and cecamaritii ...

Point the compass west today and head towards the Campania region and Sorrento. En route to Sorrento you'll visit the historical village of Paestum and take a tour of an organic farm producing the famed mozarella di bufala. Afterwards, arrive in the colourful port town of Sorrento. An orientation walk is the perfect introduction to this beautiful place, with a refreshing limoncello tasting your reward after pounding the cobblestones. The afternoon is then yours to take at your leisure, so why not grab lunch by the water or sign up to an optional gelato-making class.

The colourful streets and turquoise port of Sorrento are the perfect place for a leisurely stroll. The morning is free to explore, so take a wander past quaint little shops selling ceramics and lacework, or pick up a fruity gelato served straight from a stainless steel pozzetti (the original Italian way). In the evening there is one final cooking class – this time focused on the traditional dishes of Campania. Put together an authentic seafood risotto or Naples' famous polpette meatballs and settle in for a delicious farewell dinner with the group.
