Start this family adventure in a coastal resort brimming with character. After a guided tour learning about Sousse’s place in the history books, take the opportunity to explore the Old Town’s maze of alleyways and stock up on exotic spices at its market stalls. With plenty of free time built in, maybe even enjoy a few hours of beachside bliss on the glorious Mediterranean coastline.
2
Travel to the amphitheatre of El Djem and recreate life as a gladiator in this incredible Roman setting. Crouch in the dark tunnels alongside ghosts of the past who used to wait here before being released into the arena to entertain thousands of spectators. Leaving the desert behind, head for the hills of Matmata where some Berbers still continue to call the local caves their home. Explore the village best known as being the home of Star Wars’ Luke Skywalker and spend an unforgettable night sleeping underground in a troglodyte hotel.
3
Stop in at a troglodyte dwelling en route to Kebili, where we'll be meeting the camel drivers for our trek into the Sahara. Experience the world's largest sand desert the traditional way – from the hump of a 'ship of the desert'. Returning to camp, enjoy a Bedouin-style feast under the stars, then be entertained by the camel drivers playing traditional music around the campfire.

Head to the beautiful Sahara Lounge Palmeraie, an ecofriendly activity park, to go tree climbing and zip lining between date palms under the shade – a truly memorable experience! The afternoon is entirely free to explore the town and its oasis by yourself. You may go for a horse-drawn carriage experience across the Palmeraie, visit the interesting Eden Palm Museum to learn more about palm trees and dates or go for a walk in the market and the Old Medina.

Spend time wandering through one of Islam’s most holy sites, Kairouan; a city so revered that it's said seven visits here are the equivalent to one to Mecca. Head back to enjoy the mesmerising culture of daily life in Sousse. Before heading home, there’s time to snap up some final bargains in its countless bazaars or simply escape the urban whirlwind with a few hours swimming in the Mediterranean Sea. Why not treat the family to a final Tunisian meal before bidding farewell to this remarkable holiday.
