Depart for Yellowstone, the world’s first national park. Upon arrival in the afternoon, explore some of Yellowstone’s impressive erupting geysers such as Old Faithful, suitably named as it erupts around 18-21 times a day. Hike up to the Observation Point for a completely different perspective of the fascinating geyser. Witness some of the outstanding geological features at every turn in the park.

First designated with national park status in 1872, Yellowstone preserves unspoilt landscape and natural beauties. Our tour of the national park continues with dramatic views of deep canyons, cascading waterfalls, forests, wildlife and much more. The park is home to some incredible wildlife species, including grizzly bear, coyote, bison and elk so be sure to look out for them as you enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Today's drive takes us to Grand Teton National Park. Formed by the cracking of the earth's crust millions of years ago, the Teton mountain range stands high and mighty at over 4,300m above sea level. The rugged, craggy appearance of the mountain range is due to the crystalline rock face and heightens the mountains' ethereal atmosphere. The Mountain landscape is very popular with keen photographers, hikers and climbers as no two rock faces are the same. The national park offers a whole host of enjoyable optional activities including light hikes around scenic Jenny Lake. This afternoon, we'll continue to Jackson where we will prepare for the eclipse and enjoy an evening briefing with Dr John Mason.
