Although it’s just half an hour from Hong Kong’s hectic heart, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the gods have hit the slo-mo button when you step off the ferry and onto Yung Shue Wan Main Street; a narrow but lively thoroughfare on Lamma Island.The relaxed pace of life here is complemented by a colourful, cultural diversity. This is most evident in the business going on along the main street, which is lined with shops selling handicrafts from Southeast Asia as well as a mixture of Eastern and Western eateries.
Walk to Sok Kwu Wan(About an hour and a half ): Those wishing to indulge in the latter will usually head to the old fishing village of Sok Kwu Wan. Here, a row of restaurants, perched above the bay on stilts, offer diners excellent seafood served with pleasant alfresco dining and sea views. Fresh chilli crab, garlic prawns, deep-fried squid and steamed fish with ginger and spring onions are all firm favourites.
